Air Bridge Dewtorial
Lets start with defining what these things are:
- Geeez what is Dr, Dew talking about now. What the heck is an air bridge?
- Ahhhh this is a device that yer high speed internet service gives ya.
- Now for us folks out here in the rural areas, where the big companies don’t wanna provide us with DSL or Cable, we do have an alternative to that. It’s wireless. Your local internet service providers on the Local Yokels page have this service. They put an antenna on your house which connects to the air bridge and then with an Ethernet wire it connects to the Ethernet card in your computer. It can also connect to a router and then to several computers.
- Now sometimes the air bridge goes off on a tangent and doesn’t want to do its job so this is where we cycle the air bridge.
- All ya got to dew is unplug the dang thang from the power source, like the wall and wait 60 seconds or so and plug the dog gone thing back in. Now aint that a crock!! Why can’t they call it unplugging the air bridge, I guess that’s not technical enough. Other tips related to this are on the HOW DEW page.

How To Revive a Laptop Battery
Whoo Hooo!! Betcha didn’t think this was possible? Yep sometimes this works and saves you a ton of bucks. Average laptop batteries run anywhere from $80 - $200. Well heres the skinny on getting life back into your rechargeable battery.
- Discharge the battery as much as you can
- put the battery into a sealed bag, (like a heavy duty freezer bag)
- Put it into the freezer for at least 24hrs. Overnight sometimes is enough, but it’s best to leave it in there a week.
- Take it out of the freezer and the bag and let it sit out to allow it to get to room temperature. Make sure you wipe off the condensation before you use it. You can do this easier by leaving it in the sun for a while.
- Fully charge the battery, and then run it down again as low as you can get it. Repeat this charge-discharge process a few times and see if you can't get a longer battery life !

How To Find your PIE size
What does a pie have to do with a computer you may ask? EVERTHING!!
It’s your hard drive pie. This shows you how much space is used up on your hard drive. You should not use anymore than ¾ of it. At this point you should look at getting rid of some stuff or getting another drive.
CLICK the start button and find MY COMPUTER and click on it. In my computer you will see c: and an icon. You will click on it and go to properties and there you will see the pie. It may show anount Used, and free, sumtimes in %, or megabytes, or gigabytes. The last one is a mouthfull !

Don't Dew IT !
DON’T: Plug a new card, such as a modem, video, network, or any card into the computer when it is running. Make sure the computer is unplugged
DON’T: Try to fix your computer if you have never done so before. Make sure you know what you are doing without a doubt before attempting to do so!
DON’T: Replace computer components without an ESD Bracelet (Electronic Static Discharge). Here's a good example of what could happen. Ya know when you sometimes touch a door knob, and ya get a shock? Well, that's 20,000 Volts of static electricity !
Well if that happens when you try to install computer memory, ya might as well say Adios to it. It only takes 5000 volts of static electricity to kill memory and you can't feel that. So....it's better to be safe than sorry !!
